Chopra was booked in stoppage time of Cardiff’s 1-1 draw with Nottingham Forest on Sunday and will now not face Swansea City when the two teams go head to head on Saturday in the first Welsh derby of the season.

The Championship’s leading scorer will have to watch his team mates from the sidelines in the Saturday clash that will be screened live on Sky Sports.

Speaking to BBC Wales, Chopra said “They are the games you want to play in

“To miss a game against Swansea means so much to me.

“The team’s not about one player,” he added. “There are a lot of players ready to take people’s places.

“We’ve got good players on the bench waiting to come in. The main thing is we’ve just got to go there and play our normal game, and play football and not the occasion.

“Hopefully we can get the three points.”
