The Swansea City striker last netted against Crystal Palace at the Liberty back in March – a run that is becoming as frustrating for him as it is for the fans.
Pintado netted one of the great strikes on Tuesday long after a linesman’s flag had ruled it out but hopes to change all of this against high flying Nottingham Forest on Saturday at the Liberty
Speaking to the Evening Post, Pintado said
“It has been very frustrating because I haven’t scored yet,” says Pintado.
“But you can’t let it get to you and affect your confidence, otherwise it will be even more difficult.
“I know the fans will be frustrated, but I want them to know that it will come soon.
“I am a confident player. I have a good record in my career.
“I’ve never had a run like this in my career — it is a long time without a goal — but they will come.
“I am working hard for that moment. In training I am scoring as normal, but for some reason it hasn’t happened on the pitch.
“Against Plymouth I managed to score — it was probably my best shot this season, but I was offside. It was so unlucky because I think it was a close decision.
“That is my luck at the moment, but it won’t be like that for long.
“I want to score as soon as possible, but the most important thing is the team.
“So long as the team is winning, that is the main thing.
“It is not my decision to set the formation, but we have good options,” he said.
“We can play with one striker, which means more players need to support in the final third, or two, which gives us more attacking options in the box.
“It means we are not predictable, and the players don’t know what the manager will do with selection either.
“Also, up front we have players who do different things. It is better for the manager and the team that we have strikers with different characteristics.
“This will help us a lot this season.”
