The Swansea City captain has been on the sidelines for more than a month but is finally set to return to the action as the Swans look to build on their play off hopes.

And Paulo Sousa could not be happier to see his captain back in action as he told the Evening Post “I miss every player from our squad because they give us the possibility to make the best choice

“It’s not a difficult decision. Difficult decisions are when we have to play people out of position,” said Sousa.

“It’s good for a manager when you have all your players because then you can make decisions.

“In my squads I don’t think of just one leader. The captain is not enough.

“Alan is one of the leaders because he is someone who always communicates well, but we are developing others.

“It’s not only Christmas. I think until the end of January is a big part of this league,” he said.

“Reading got a good result at Bristol and after that they will be motivated.

“We respect them, but we want to put our identity on the pitch.

“It’s important to start all games well, but especially this one because they are coming with new hope and new belief after a good result.

“We want to tell them straight away that we are there to win the game.”
