The Swansea City player has been kept out of the team since his return from injury thanks to the excellent form of Fede Bessone and he now says that if he needs to leave on loan to increase his chances he will do so

Speaking to the Evening Post, Painter said “My focus is on getting into the Swansea team and I am not looking to go out on loan

“But if the gaffer says he thinks I should go out and get some games, I will do it.

“I had a game at Leicester, and it’s a positive that the gaffer has given me a game because he didn’t have to.

“But I haven’t had a run of games for a long time and I think any consecutive run would do me good.

“I think it would be beneficial to me and, if that’s what the gaffer thinks I need, I am willing to do it.

“Don’t get me wrong, though, Swansea is where I want to be playing, not any other club.

“It’s been hard to take,” he added.

“After coming to the club I was playing regularly at left-back until the injury, but that just shows how quickly things can change in football

“One minute I was the main face and the next I was struggling to make the bench.

“But I am not one to go in and ask questions. I am just going to keep working hard and wait for my chance.

“A few times this season I’ve thought I might be involved and I haven’t been, so it’s hard to say.

“I don’t feel I had a bad game at Leicester even though the result didn’t go our way, but at the same time the other lads have been doing well when they’ve been picked.”
