The Swansea City striker could be in action on Saturday as the Swans head north east to take on Middlesbrough.
Beattie has only played once since the beginning of December thanks to a knee injury and then illness but Chairman Huw Jenkins says he could be back this weekend after returning to fitness.
Speaking to the Evening Post he said “It’s a priority for Paulo to make sure Craig Beattie is fit every week
“Craig has had various problems since he joined us.
“He has had a chest infection, he has had the flu and he has had a problem with the muscle behind his knee.
“He has had a bit of everything really, but it’s important that we get him back fit and raring to go.
“When Craig came into the side and had a good spell it coincided with our best run of the season, so it’s important that we get him back involved.”
