Swansea City head to Watford on Saturday on the back of a run of just 2 defeats in their last 21 games but the satisfaction with the draw at Middlesbrough last weekend was soon backed by the frustration of a home draw with Coventry.
But Allen says that the team are confident that they can hit the ground running with wins again and that they intend to start on the road with a win at Watford this weekend.
“We are confident we can turn those draws into wins,” he told BBC Sport.
“We know we can do better and we are sure we can put that right on Saturday. It’s similar to last season.
“Obviously to go to Middlesbrough, come away with a point and we had a chance of taking all three points was promising and pleasing
“But the other night was a very frustrating game against a team who came for a 0-0 draw and that’s what they got. [It] was disappointing but it hasn’t disheartened the team.
“I think the way teams set up against us make is very difficult sometimes and maybe that shows a bit of respect [and] shows that teams really do rate us and are afraid to [play against us, which I suppose you can take as a positive.
“We haven’t got a great track record against them (Watford), so we know it’s going to be tough, but we got a late equaliser against them earlier in the season.
“Judging our team against theirs I think we have got enough ability to turn them over even away from home. So that’s our main aim but first of all to get the performance right.”
