The Swansea City manager said after the game "I think everyone will agree with me that Newcastle are the best side in the league, but we are the best team to play football.
"We were much better than them in everything, we deserved to win by miles. But football sometimes is cruel.
"But we can't be too down. We need to be proud with the way we played because we were a better side than them.
"Their players said they recognised our quality after the game and our form over the last few weeks has been stronger than ever.
"It was a great goal from David (Cotterill), with great quality. We had the opportunity to score more, but it wasn't to be.
"I think it was a red card. I've seen it again on the video and he caught him with his elbow. But the referee saw it differently."
