The Coventry City manager believes it took 45 minutes before Coventry even got into that game and that is something that you cannot do at Championship level.
"We got some pride back in the second half. But if you are to get out of this league, you can't mix it up like we did," he said after the game
"We looked lost in the first half, then did more of what we've been working on after the break.
"Part of getting out of this league is being consistent. You can't turn it on and off like a light switch.
"But it took us 45 minutes to introduce ourselves to Swansea.
"It's not acceptable – even when your not playing well you can be on the front foot and we weren't.
"It frustrates and irritates me because our second half performance was light years ahead of the first.
"We created untold chances in the second half and tonight is a lesson we need to heed because we are not bad when we get our act together.
"We have some very talented players in our dressing room but no matter what you do, whether that be an interviewer or a manager or a footballer, if you don't apply yourself every second of every day you won't be all you can be."
