The Reading manager was speaking after watching his side go down to a rate home defeat to the Swans.
He told Reading’s official website “We’ve done fantastically well at Madejski Stadium so this is a feeling we don’t like.
“Prior to this game we got a lot of points at home, long may that continue. We need to remember this feeling because we don’t want it too many times this season.
“We had opportunities in the game andย it was disappointing to lose at home in front of our home fans.
“In the first half I thought there was nothing in the game, we had an opportunity with Shane’s header, then they got the goal with their first shot and had ten minutes when they played really well.ย Getting the first goal makes a difference.
“We were trying to get a goal back, they had a couple of opportunities, hit the bar and Fedders made a good save but we stayed in the game.ย Toward the end of the game we had plenty of pressure but there was something missing in our game, we didn’t have a cutting edge and that’s something we need to address. We weren’t at our best and we’re really disappointed to come away with nothing.
“I thought the playersย showed spirit, desire and it will hold us in good stead. We had plenty of corners and some opportunities.
“You always want your strikers to be scoring,ย all our strikers, wide players, midfield players. We looked a little bit short with our final ball and we’ll address that. We didn’t really carve too much out.
“I can’t fault the players for effort. We gave everything we’ve got but just came up short on the day. We’re hurting, we’ll hurt for some time but then we have to move on, we’ve got no choice.”
