Augustien was injured during Tuesday’s Carling Cup clash at Wigan on Tuesday but a spokesman confirmed that whilst he will miss the weekend trip to Crystal Palace he will return to training on Monday and could feature in the derby a week tomorrow.

“It is the same knee that Kemy damaged in pre-season but it’s the other side of the knee and the injuries are unrelated,” a Swans spokesman told the Evening Post.

“It’s a little bit sore, but Kemy should be back in training at the start of next week and we’re hopeful that he will be fine for the Cardiff game.”
