Rodgers – I’m Really Looking Forward To It

Rodgers is yet to experience the intensity of derby day in South Wales but he will on Sunday as his 3rd placed Swans travel to league leaders Cardiff in an eagerly anticipated clash.

1st against 3rd is usually enough to attract interest on its own but factor in the local rivalry and this becomes a huge match although admittedly not one that will shape the course of the season for either side.

“I’ve watched the last few games, they have been just fantastic,” said Rodgers.

“You can gauge even from the television the intensity and rivalry.

“It’s obviously my first derby and I’m really looking forward to it.

“Both teams have started the season very, very well, that’s great for south Wales and it puts that bit more on the game

“But it’s not a game that’s going to define where we are at the end of the season.

“[The derby is] fantastic for the fans, but as a team and manager you have to prepare just like any other game.”
