The Swansea City manager heads into his first taste of South Wales derby action with his side sitting comfotably in 3rd place in the Championship table.

But with Cardiff 2 points clear at the top and with home advantage, Rodgers knows that it makes the Swans the underdogs as he explained to the Western Mail

“We are underdogs and that suits us perfectly because we’re happy to quietly get on with our work.

“We’re not getting talked about as much, but maybe people don’t know about us. Maybe they don’t come down to Swansea because we don’t boast about what we are going to do and that doesn’t make headlines.

“But my players will be happy to do their talking on the pitch.

“Being top brings its own pressure – and then there is the expectancy of promotion.

“For us this is only the third season in the Championship. We have got players who are still getting attuned to the division.

“So this is a real, real test, but every test we’ve had so far we’ve stood up.”
