Millen was speaking in the build up to the clash between his side and Swansea City this evening with the sides at opposing ends of the Championship table.

And Sinclair is a part of that reason having scored 11 times since his move from Chelsea during the summer.  Millen revealed though that his predecessor Steve Coppell also wanted to sign Sinclair but was put off by the price that Chelsea then wanted for him.

Swansea stepped in and £500,000 later, Sinclair was a Jack and the rest could well become history.  “Had they offered him to us for that kind of price, then he would probably be a Bristol City player now.” Millen told the Evening Post

“But we spoke to Chelsea on a couple of occasions and they were asking silly money. Their valuation was way beyond what we could afford, so we went out and bought Albert Adomah instead.

“He’s definitely a dangerous player and, looking at his record this season and having seen him play, he seems to be where Swansea’s biggest threat comes from.

“Sinclair is very quick as a winger, but he also likes to come inside and cause problems and you can see why he is Swansea’s top scorer this season.

“He is someone we have to be aware of and it’s up to us to try and keep him quiet.

“We respect Swansea, of course we do, but we will not fear them

“This is a derby game by Championship standards and it’s one of those where there is definitely a rivalry between the two sets of supporters. It’s England against Wales and our supporters will expect us to get a result.”

“Swansea keep the ball for long periods and pass it really well, but you cannot afford to allow yourselves to get frustrated.

“We have to be patient, work out which areas of the field to press the ball and, when we do turn over possession, make sure we get the ball forward and cause them problems.

“Because of the way Swansea play, there tend to be very few goalscoring chances whenever we play them.

“The games are usually tight and are generally decided by one or two major incidents. We have to make sure we come out on top when those incidents occur.”

“They are probably the form team in the Championship at the moment, but unbeaten runs and long spells without letting in a goal have to end sometime.

“We are going there with the mind-set that we want to cause them problems. They’re going well, but they ought to respect us as well.
