The Swansea City defender will step into a hole left by injury to Garry Monk and suspension to Alan Tate.
Almost certain to line up in the middle alongside captain for the day Ashley Williams, Serran is ready to make just his 17th league start for the club he joined in 2008.
“It’s a possibility that I’ll play and I’m looking forward to it because I’ve been waiting for this moment,” he told the Evening Post.
“It’s been very difficult for me because at the beginning it was very hard to adapt to the team, another country and other things.
“That was my first year, then in the second year I had too many injuries. Now I’m working a lot, I’m feeling better โ fit and strong.
“This is the time I think to show my quality, to show the fans what I can do.
“I think the best of me is coming. This season is going to be the best one for me.
“I’m ready to show my quality. This is the moment.
“It’s difficult when you only play now and again, but the team is playing very well
“There are very good players here and it’s difficult when you are behind them.
“But you never know, you have to work hard and you can get your chance.
My best position is centre-back because I’ve always played centre-back, but I can play at full-back as well,” Serran added.
“I just want to play, nothing else.
“I’m working hard to get my chance and maybe this is it.
“I had a chance at Wigan in the Carling Cup, but unfortunately I had to leave the pitch very early.
“The important thing is to play, I don’t mind if it’s away or home.
“I’m going to do my best. I’ll work for the team because we need three points to stay at the top of the table.”
