Easter – I Support Arsenal Not Cardiff

And Easter admits that despite his Cardiff roots he is an Arsenal fan ahead of the Bluebirds.

Easter sparked fury when he celebrated a Wycombe goal by doing the Ayatollah in front of the Swans fans four years ago but hne has now put that behind him even if he understands that some supporters have not done so.

โ€œIโ€™m sure Iโ€™ll get a bit of stick from a couple of fans,โ€ he told Wales on Sunday.

โ€œYou do things when you are young and stupid, but I am sure a bit of hard graft and a few goals will make them forget about that.

โ€œIโ€™m not a Cardiff fan, Iโ€™ve always supported Arsenal, so it was a bit of strange one.

โ€œIt was more for my mates than it was for me.

โ€œThatโ€™s all in the past now, Iโ€™m a Swansea player and I canโ€™t wait to get started.

โ€œIโ€™ve been badgering my agent to speak to Brendan for a while now and the opportunity arose on Wednesday. By Thursday I was signed

โ€œItโ€™s a massive opportunity for me and Iโ€™m here to make it permanent.

โ€œI watched the game against Cardiff and I thought they completely dominated the game.

โ€œI remember sitting on the sofa with my wife and saying that I would love to play in that team with all the chances they get.

โ€œThe lads play some great stuff and hopefully I can be on the pitch to finish off some of the great opportunities they create.

โ€œThe two wingers have impressed me massively, and Joe Allen in the midfield.

โ€œThey play with a high percentage of possession. So it is about me playing a bit of cat-and-mouse with the centre-half so I get chances.

โ€œWhen I was at my most prolific it was in the same kind of system last season at MK Dons, so it is something I can hopefully slip into.

โ€œAs soon as Iโ€™m fit Iโ€™ll be raring to go.

โ€œThere are a lot of quality players here and I am thoroughly looking forward to it,โ€ he said.

โ€œI canโ€™t wait to get going, but I donโ€™t think Iโ€™m under pressure to perform here.

โ€œFor me, Iโ€™ve got to knuckle down get some goals and hopefully turn it into a longer deal.

โ€œIโ€™ve played in the Championship with Plymouth and itโ€™s a league I always keep an eye on.

โ€œI feel I am more than capable of playing at this level.โ€
