Goodbye – Jordi Set To Exit Swansea City

The midfielder has grown unhappy at his lack of appearances in the team both this and last season and now he says he has spoken to the club and his agent about a move in January.

Lopez was signed by Paulo Sousa after his arrival at the Liberty Stadium but has constantly failed to nail down a permanent appearance in the side and now it seems he has admitted that the time is right for him to move on.

“I am only 29 and I can’t be just going along every week in training and not making the squad,” he told the Evening Post

“I have around three years at my best to play and I’m losing time here. When you’re not playing it is difficult to be happy.

“I think it’s going to be very difficult for me to get an opportunity now because the season has moved on a lot.

“I would like to move in January because I want to play โ€” and I can’t see that happening here.

“I’m speaking to my agent already. I’ve also spoken to the chairman about my situation and I expect to move on.

“I don’t really understand my situation. I don’t think I can do much more to get into the team

“I have done everything asked of me in training, but I don’t get an opportunity.

“When I have played, it has only been a game here or there. But in that situation it is difficult to do your best and find form.

“The last time I played was againstย Derby and I did very well. After that, I was out again for no reason. Nothing was said to me.

“Myself and the manager haven’t spoken about it.

“I am experienced in football and I know when someone doesn’t rate you.

“I’m not sure if other clubs have shown an interest yet, but that is something my agent will deal with.

“It doesn’t matter to me whether I play here or inย Spain. Playing football every week is my priority.”
