Rodgers though re-iterated his desire to keep Pratley at the Liberty Stadim and told the Western Mail “He (Grant) rang me and asked the question on Darren, but I was straight to the point with him and said he wasn’t a player I wanted to sell.
“I spoke to Darren and told him, but there was no problem because he’s happy here.
“And I think anyone else coming in would be wasting their time because there is a feeling Darren and the players here want to achieve something together.
“His plan has always been to see out the season and that hasn’t changed. People might think they can get him on the cheap, but they will have to wait until the summer – if he decides to go.”
There were also media reports earlier in the week that suggested Pratley was close to agreeing a deal with Bolton Wanderers.
