The Swansea City manager was talking after his side ended a run of four consecutive defeats at Portsmouth – moving themselves nearer a guaranteed play off spot in the process.
Rodgers told Wales on Sunday "It was a little bit frustrating but I was proud of my players because we had talked about getting the away form right before the match.
"I wanted them to get back that warrior spirit and I thought they showed it, particularly in the second half.
"There is always pressure when you have lost four in a row and especially when you are coming to a team who is only just out of the Premier League.
"We needed to be organised and strong in defense and I thought we were excellent in that respect."
On the race for automatic promotion, he said: "It's still possible.
"It was important that we stopped the rot and if we can win all of our games now let's see what happens.
"If there is one profession where the seemingly impossible can become the possible then it is football."
