Allen has risen through the ranks at Swansea City and will take his place in Monday's matchday squad as the Swans look to lift themselves into the Premier League for next season.

And with some of his mates amongst the 40,000 crowd, he says he does not want to let the fans down as he told the Evening Post "In the build-up you can see fans queuing up for tickets and how much it means to the city and see how excited everyone is

"We don't want to let these people down. We'll make sure we give everything so they don't have that disappointment.

"It's amazing to think how far this club has come in recent times. It's a pretty impressive story.

"The new stadium has attracted new fans as well as the old fans who followed the club.

"That's down to success over the past couple of seasons and what we believe is playing football the right way.

"In past times we've probably flown under the radar. People have seen us as a smaller club in the Championship, but I think we've turned heads this season.

"I haven't felt the disappointment of defeat on the big stage as a player," he said.

"People like Tatey (Alan Tate) and Britts (Leon Britton) will be giving it 100 per cent to make sure that it doesn't happen again.

"They'll look at that disappointment in 2006 which might help them this time around.

"It was obviously a crushing feeling and it's up to us to make sure that we don't go through that again.

"There is no bigger stage than Wembley and playing in front of 40,000 Swansea fans.

"Hopefully the pitch will suit us and we're confident we can do well."
