And that time was enough for the Swansea City midfielder to announce his return with a perfect pass for Craig Beattie to set up the first goal in a 3-1 victory for the Swans.
That was his last taste of action as he was subbed soon afterwards but that was just enough for him to declare afterwards that he was feeling fine.
"I'm fine,'' he told the official Swansea website. "I was only going to play 15 or 20 minutes anyway and everything went well. It was a good run by Beatts for the goal – and that's what makes the pass.
"As you know, I've been out a very long time and we've had a tough week with double training sessions. I had tired legs and was feeling a bit tight and stiff, but that's only to be expected.
"I feel good considering it was over a year ago that I played my last game for Swansea. It was nice to pull on the shirt again and I had a great reception from the fans; but saying that they've always been good to me.
"I've got to be sensible and pick the right moments to push on.''
