The paper reports that Swansea City's wage ceiling of £20,000 per week will prove to be a stumbling block with Pavone reportedly waiting for Blackburn Rovers to come back in having had their deal blocked.
The paper says "The 29-year-old’s representatives held talks with the Premier League new boys this week, but their strict £20,000-a-week wage ceiling means they cannot match his demands.
"Pavone is now hoping Blackburn – where he agreed terms and passed a medical last week, only for the club’s bank to put a block on the deal – will come back in for him.
"Rovers manager Steve Kean has flown to India for a summit with the club’s Indian owners over their lack of new faces."
