And whilst Brendan would like to add experience to his Swansea City squad he says he is not worried at it if it does not happen.
The squad currently has just over 200 top flight appearances between them – over half from Luke Moore – on the subject of which Rodgers said to the Western Mail “There are plenty of players playing in the Premier League who have been there for a number of years.
“Sometimes you can have players at that level and they can become too comfortable.
“They have been there for a number of years and they don’t have anything to prove.
“I would rather have hungry players.
“If you’ve got that bit of experience around it’s okay, but I’m not crying about it,” said Rodgers.
“The players here will really look forward to going in.
“Especially going into the Premier League, you need players who have quality and have hunger.
“For me it’s about building a squad of hungry players then experience and all that sort of stuff may come later on.
“The most important thing for me is to have players who are hungry enough to play in the Premier League and then we will bring in players to support them.
“Hopefully we will go into the Premier League campaign with players who have everything to prove."
