Borini played a vital role in Swansea City's promotion last season with some important goals whilst on loan from Chelsea.
But a contract had already been agreed with Parma when he arrived and that meant that his involvement ended at the end of that magical day in May when the play off final was won.
He was back in Wales this weekend with his new side in a pre season friendly at Cardiff and he took the time to tip the Swans to do well in the Premier League.
Speaking to the Western Mail he said “I think they will do very well,
“They have got a great manager who had experience with Jose Mourinho in the Premier League.
“I really hope they do well and I’m going to follow them from Italy.
“I think they’ve got a good opportunity to do well, but I don’t want to say anything bigger than what they expect because they have a long way to go.
“They have very good players, especially up front with Scott Sinclair and Nathan Dyer, and with the midfield and back four, they’ve got a very good side.
“They have to play the identical way as they did in the Championship because otherwise they will lose their personality so they need to continue in that manner.
“It was a good experience for me at Swansea. It wasn’t as good as Chelsea or Parma, but I learnt a lot.
“I believe I did a pretty good job and I think they were still happy with me, even though I left after they got into the Premier League.
“It means a lot to me.
“I keep in touch with Brendan, I spoke to him on Friday night, and the secretary came to the Cardiff game to give me some DVDs of the play-offs and I will keep in touch with the players as well.
“It’s still my dream to play in the Premier League because I only played four times with Chelsea.
“The Premier League is the best league so you always want to play there.”
