Betis take on Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium tomorrow and Rangel says that it will provide the perfect test for their Premier League debut which is now little over a week away.
Rangel – who scored the first goal in Wednesday's 2-0 win over Celtic – told the Western Mail “They are a team I have always liked.
“Historically they are a good club and try to play football in the same way as us.
“It will be another step up from the Celtic match, but every game is getting harder and that’s what we need to be ready for Manchester City.
“They were champions of Segunda last season and played some lovely football and scored a lot of goals.
“Last season they beat Barcelona in the cup and played some good football in that game. It will be a very good test for us.
“He is a very good goalscorer and definitely a player we will have to keep quiet.
“The most important thing for us is to keep our fitness levels high and improve with every game.
“I still like to watch as much Spanish football as I can, even the Segunda, because I like to see what teams are doing well back home. So I know a few of their key players.
“I was very pleased to get the goal against Celtic and, more importantly, the right result.
“We need to work hard and get fitness levels up ready for the first game of the season.
“In the first half they did very well at keeping the ball, but in the second half we had a lot more possession.
“With the way we play we want to make things difficult for other teams.
“I know it is going to be very difficult, but we have to make sure we take maximum points in our home games.
“Away from home it is tough because we are talking about the most competitive league in the world.
“David Silva and Ashley Young are among the best wingers around so we have to be respectful but believe in ourselves. It’s a great motivation to play against the best players but we will keep our feet on the floor.”
