Graham – None Of Us Can Wait

Danny Graham says that everyone is buzzing ahead of the Swans opener against Manchester City

The Swans will finally make their Premier League bow on Monday night and will become the first Welsh side to compete in the Premier League.

And Graham insists that the whole squad is buzzing with the rest of the city as they look to defy the odds.

Graham said “Excited isn’t the word, everyone around the city and in the camp is buzzing and none of us can wait.

“Some of the lads have never had the chance of playing in the Premier, but, even though I have, this is totally different.

“It was a long time ago and I was only a young boy really.

“I had been knocking around as a kid in non-league before I signed as a 17-year-old as a scholar with the YTS.

“Within a season-and-a-half I was out there at Old Trafford and the rest playing in the Premier League.

“It all just happened and in a blink of an eye and I probably didn’t appreciate where I was.

“It’s different now because I’m here with a group of players who have worked hard for this chance and deserve to be there.

“When it all starts there’s no danger of me not taking it all in.

“We’re going there to play the way we play and go for the win.

“The difference between the two clubs is obvious and I think just one of their players would cost as much as all of our squad and then some.

“But we’re not going to go there worrying about the names on their team sheet, we’ll go there worrying about ourselves and what we have to do because football isn’t played on paper.

“They have big names and good players, but they are also human beings who are beatable.

“Hopefully we can provide some great moments because we’re going there to play our way, the same way this side has for a while,” he said.

“If we can take that up a level we’ll surprise people,” he said.

“And hopefully when we sit down and watch games on television through the year it will make enjoyable viewing.

“It will be strange being on there with all the big names.

“But I’m hoping I can watch it as I’ve not got Sky installed in my new place yet!”
