Swans Fail In Bates Bid

Sky Sports are reporting that Swansea have failed in a bid for Matthew Bates from Middlesbrough

The report suggests that the Swans have tabled a £1m bid for the defender and that has been rejected by Boro who are reluctant to let him leave for less than his valuation which is rumoured to be as high as £2m.

More to follow on this today no doubt as Brendan looks to secure the 3/4 transfers he told Sky Sports News he would like to complete today.
