Brendan Rodgers has some sympathy for the under pressure Bolton manager Owen Coyle
Coyle is coming under increasing pressure after a disappointing run that has seen Bolton take just 6 points out of the last 36 available.
A shocking end to last season was forgotten when the Trotters triumphed 4-0 at QPR on the opening day of this season but 7 defeats in 8 since then – including 5 straight at home – has increased the pressure on Coyle who arrives in Swansea this weekend with some saying he may even need a win to save his job.
And that attracts the sympathy from his opposite number this weekend with Brendan saying “One minute you’re a hero the next minute you are nothing, but that’s football
“I’m sure I will have to go through it at some stage in my Swansea career and I will be the talking point.
“He is a great manager who has done very well at this level.
“It’s what happens when you are down that what matters.
“They’ve got a lot of good players and they have got a manager who has done very well there.
“Owen knows that he will be judged at the end of the season. We are only a quarter of the way through the season and he will know they have not made the ideal start.
“I’m sure that in time they will start climbing league.”
