Agustien Ready For His Chance – When It Comes

Kemy Agustien insists that he is ready for a run in the Swans first team but acknowledges that he has to dislodge others first

Agustien was an impressive late substitute last week against Fulham but looks set to start on the bench again on Saturday as Brendan looks certain to start with a midfield trio of Allen, Britton and Gower.

And that means that Kemy will be back on the bench with the fun over his A-team haircut now died down although he said that there were others in the team that made up the 80s show –ย “Murdock is Thomas Butler, Garry Monk would be Hannibal and Face would be Andrea Orlandi

“I never saw someone have the haircut before so I thought I would do it.

“It was nice to have it for a couple of weeks but I’m back to normal now.

“I started the season really well, then I got injured and someone has to come in to take my place,” said Agustien.

“He (Gower) has done a great job and he deserves his place at the moment.

“The players who are playing all deserve to be there โ€” I have to work hard and wait for my chance, then I’ll have to take it.

“I’ve learned a lot in the last couple of years.

“At the end of the day, I have to deal with the manager’s decisions.

“If I’m playing, I’ll do my best, if I’m not playing I have to wait for my chance and do my best when it comes.

“I’ve worked very hard to get back and I was just pleased with the last 25 minutes I got last weekend,” said Agustien.

“I’ve been fit for two or three weeks but it’s not easy for me to come straight back in.

“I’ve been frustrated but, at the end of the day, it’s not about me, it’s about keeping Swansea up โ€” that’s the main thing.

“I want to prove every day that I want to be part of the team.

“I do extra sessions so that people will know when I’m on the bench they can count on me.

“After training I’ll do running, take shots and go to the gym, those kind of things.

“I expect to start every game and I think that’s important.

“If I don’t start I want to make sure I’m ready to help the team when I get the chance.

“It’s not only about physical presence because in every away game we have played well โ€” it’s just about changing little things,” said Agustien.

“Our first away win is going to come soon and hopefully that will be this Saturday.

“I think Newcastle started the season very well, but they’re struggling now in defence and we have to take advantage of that.

“We’ll do what we do best and I think we’ll have a good chance.

“We put pressure on ourselves and that’s the most important thing.

“We want to improve every game and we want to win every game.”
