Brendan Rodgers delivered a chilling warning for strikers everywhere when he declared that Michel Vorm will only get better

Rodgers told BBC Sportย “In this short period with us he’s proven he’s a top keeper at this level and he’ll only get better

“He’s been in the country only six months now so he’s only going to improve and get better once he finds that co-ordination with the team by playing with them and getting more experience of the Barclays Premier League.

“His career is only on the up in terms of his performances.

“In terms of my eyes, [Vorm] is very much a top, top keeper,” added Rodgers, who revealed he had kept a close eye on Krul’s development since signing for Newcastle from Den Haag in 2006.

“I can only judge on what I see on a daily basis and on a weekly basis in his performance level.

“There’s certainly no doubt I would like to see a better one than Michel because if there is someone better than him in the Dutch national team then they’ve obviously got an outstanding keeper.”
