Brendan – We Weren’t At Our Best

Brendan Rodgers was happy to admit that his side was not at their best as they departed the FA Cup at the Reebok Stadium

Brendan said after the gameย “We weren’t at our best today, there’s no doubt about that

“But I still felt as though we did enough to earn something out of the game.

“We made too many mistakes today and we gave away a poor goal just before half time when we should have managed the game a little better.

“I wanted to make sure the team was fresh, but a lot of the players that came into the side had already played in the Premier League this season,” he said.

“I’ve got big respect for the FA Cup and I wanted us to go through today. It’s the best domestic cup competition in the world and I would never disrespect our supporters who travel all over the country to watch us play.

“The build-up play for the first goal was fantastic,” he said. “As a team goal, it was brilliant and it was a world class finish fromย Luke Moore.

“Gerhard has been a great backup for Michel Vorm this season and there is no blame attached to hill at all.

“But the positive is that we’ll come here (to the Reebok Stadium) in the league, with a strong mentality and I’m sure our performance will be a lot better.”
