Brendan Rodgers believes that Kemy still has a future with the club going forward despite his season ending injury
Agustien is unlikely to feature again this term after what was initially expected to be a minor ankle operation but was more serious than first thought
“It’s going to be difficult for him to come back this season,” Rodgers told the Western Mail.
“It was initially a minor operation and he would be out for three to five weeks – but when they opened it up they saw problems on the other side of the ankle and now we’re looking at eight weeks.
“And that’s going to make it tough for him to come back before the end of the season.
“It’s a blow because he’s been an important member of our squad.
“He’s been fantastic when asked to step in and added a physical presence when it’s required.
“But he shouldn’t worry about his future. There is an option in his contract for us and he has contributed well.
“Maybe he hasn’t played as often as he would have liked, but he will be an important player going forward.
“And we’ll have a look at a deal because he’s a player I would like to keep here.”
