Brendan Rodgers was looking forward to the last game of the season as Swansea prepare to bring down the curtain on their first Premier League season
Rodgers asked last weekend for Swans fans to come dressed as Elvis on Sunday – a campaign that has gathered more and more momentum as the week has gone on.
Brendan’s call referred to someone telling him shortly after the play off final that there was more chance of Elvis being seen alive then the Swans surviving in the Premier League. And wif the Swans could sign of with a victory on Sunday not only have they survived but they could seal a top 10 place if results elsewhere go in their favour.
Rodgers told the Western Mail “It’s important to celebrate success
“The people of Swansea love to party, the achievements of the players this season have been phenomenal and Sunday promises to be a great day as we finish off what has been an incredible season.
“For us to finish in the top 10 would be an absolutely brilliant achievement,” Rodgers said. “But Liverpool come here with plenty to play for as well.
“They will want to finish as high up the table as possible, and there is always a demand at a club like Liverpool to win games. For us to get anything from them we will need to be at full tilt.”
