Brendan Rodgers will look out at a sea of Elvis Presleys this afternoon as his side bid for a Top 10 Premier League place

Rodgers called on Swansea fans to dress up as the music legend in relaton to a comment made at the end of last season that there was more chance of Elvis being found alive then there was in Swansea staying in the Premier League.

All those critics have been proved wrong and victory could lift the Swans into a Top 10 place at the end of their debut season in the Premier League, something that Rodgers acknowledged would be a huge feat

Rodgers said: “Look at Stoke. They are a consistent, established performer at this level, but haven’t finished in the top 10 yet.

“That’s the reality of what these guys have the opportunity to do at the weekend.

“To have the chance of finishing in the top 10 shows the hard work by the players and will be a brilliant achievement if we can do it.

“But, whatever way the games go on Sunday, I’m so proud of my players. If we had finished 17th then that would have been remarkable.

“The demands that have been on us this season, both on and off the field, have been incredible.

“It has brought us really close together as a group. We’ve had a cause to fight for, defending our way of playing and to get results.”

And on the interest in the Elvis Presley call?

“I have been taken aback by the interest. Someone from the Valleys drove down to the Liberty Stadium a couple of days after I said it with a cake with a Swan dressed as Elvis. It’s absolutely phenomenal.

“It is just something to make people smile. Football is global, but it’s also about fun. It’s an entertainment and we must not forget that.”
