Speaking to ITV4 directly after the game, the Swans manager was glad that the opposition provided more of a test than they did last week and he said “We always knew they would give us a tougher test
“After losing 4-0 last week they always wanted to show their home crowd that they are better than that and I think they gave us a good game. They started well and had a chance in the first minute
“We created three or four chances in the first half and did not score but in the second half there were less chances. I think in the second half there were certain stages where both teams knew the match was done.
“It was important for me to make changes and a lot of players have had ninety minutes now and that is good and nice for me to know that they are there and ready and we can start the Premier League.”
Laudrup refused to be drawn on what a realistic target was for the Swans in Europe and he said “Tomorrow is the draw and then we would like to go into the group stages but let’s see tomorrow who we are going to play. And in the group stages we will have six more games to play.”
Manchester United are next up for the Swans at the Liberty and Laudrup added “We have had two competitive games. There isn’t so much pressure on us as we play the Champions.”
