Michu won his first cap for Spain against Belarus and played the first hour of the game as they gained three of the four points that they need to secure their qualification for Brazil next summer to defend their trophy.
Michu was starved of the ball on many occasions as Belarus parked the bus but he will be looking to add to his caps in their final qualifying game on Tuesday against Georgia.
Meanwhile, Michel Vorm was another international player last night as he played in Holland’s 8-1 victory over Hungary in which Robin Van Persie grabbed a hat-trick.
Neil Taylor played in a rare Wales win over Macedonia in Cardiff, a result that lifted them to 4th place in their group and kept alive their hopes of finishing third. Jazz Richards and Daniel Alfei were unused substitutes.
