Wales will put their unbeaten record in the group on the line against the initial group favourites knowing that a win will dramatically increase their chances of a first major finals appearance for almost 60 years.
We have been here before with Wales with false dawns and hope only to be frustrated at the last minute too many times in the past. But there is a different feel about the squad and their chances this time around and Williams believes that the spirit this time around could see Wales complete the job that they have started
“We can sense the whole country is excited about the team and that everyone wants to be at this game.
“That’s what we’ve worked hard at. We have earned this excitement and expectation and we want to take it to the next level.
“People mention what’s gone before but history is what it is – we have put the work in to change it. That has been our focus and our drive – to be the team that can get it done.
“We have had a good team for a while but never managed it but now we have got ourselves here, we want to seal the deal and get it done.
“We have been through a tough time but we feel we have come out the other side and now the team spirit is massive in this group. It is the best I’ve been involved in.
“And that’s the key. I feel other teams may have individual quality, but our group is so united it can overcome anything. Our unity and our group can overcome any team.â€
