Just two days after completing a move for forward Andre Ayew today they are being linked with a move for Ighalo – who scored 20 goals as Watford secured a return to the Premier League last season.
Ighalo was particularly impressive in the second half of the season where he even had one run where he scored 14 in 10.
The Nigerian forward, who won his first caps for the Super Eagles in 2015, arrived at Vicarage Road from sister club Granada, originally agreeing a loan deal and the move was then made permanent a few months later.
It is difficult to wonder if we would pay the £8m fee quoted for the player but we still need strength up front and if we can hold onto the players that we have then maybe it is the kind of fee we need to pay to ensure that we have viable back ups rather than the poor options we have had in previous seasons.
