Redknapp Salutes Ayew Signing

There was a host of clubs after Ayew in the transfer window but it was the Swans who beat off the competition of the others to secure the signing – one that has been praised by several people already.

And joining the queue of admirers is Redknapp who himself was known for some (lots) of transfer dealings in each window where he was involved.

รขโ‚ฌล“An excellent free transfer. Had he not wound down his contract at Marseille he would command a transfer fee of around ร‚ยฃ15million,รขโ‚ฌย Redknapp explained.

รขโ‚ฌล“I know there were other clubs chasing this guy, 25, so for Swansea to get him is a big coup. He can play wide and come into the middle or right down the centre.

รขโ‚ฌล“This is a deal that if it comes off it could prove one of the best value-for-money transfers of the entire summer without capturing massive headlines”

Redknapp’s comments about the transfer fee says it all and therefore the ร‚ยฃ5.7m signing on fee reported yesterday pales into insignificance and suggests that the Swans have indeed once again captured one of the bargains of the season.

It is one thing that we have had the ability to do since joining this level back in 2011. We have had the signing of Michu for just ร‚ยฃ2m and of course last season for me the signings of Lucasz Fabianski and Jack Cork were inspired moments for bargain deals. Three quality players and we can only hope that Ayew follows in those footsteps
