Tabanou has come in as left back competition for Neil Taylor and is reported to be a great attacking alternative for the Swans as well as defensively strong.

And he has certainly expressed his desire to get into the side as he told Wales Online “I’m very happy to become a Swansea player

“I’m just arriving at the club and everything is new, of course. The manager and the club signed me because they trust me. I’m going to prove that I can start. The short-term ambition here is to become a starting player.

“I know the club has a lot of ambition and I want to grow with the club. This is an important stage of my career. I’m looking forward to playing in the stadium and I hope to make the fans happy.”

The left back position is one where competition was limited last season but Neil Taylor had an excellent season back in the side after two years of his own watching on from the sidelines – one forced by his bad injury.

He was rewarded at the end of the season with a new contract and will surely be the man in possession when the season comes around but any form of competition for places has to be a good thing and Tabanou’s comments are welcome and can only be good for us.
