The fixtures computer last week handed the Swans a visit to the home of the Champions on opening day, a place where we have lost all four Premier League visits to date.
However, last season we were given a similarly difficult challenge when we faced Manchester United at Old Trafford and we upset the apple cart there and there is clearly a belief that we can produce a similar upset this time around.
The signings of Andre Ayew and Franck Tabanou clearly have Swans fans in optimistic mood at the moment as we look to build on last season’s 8th placed finish which was a best performance for the Swans in the Premier League era and second only to the 6th place we achieved under John Toshack in 1982.
We were one of only two sides to lead in the league at Stamford Bridge last time around before missing out to a Diego Costa hat-trick to lose 4-2 whilst we do have a recent win at Stamford Bridge – we won there 2-0 in the league cup semi final in 2013.

Meanwhile, William Hill have released their odds for the first game of the season with the Swans able to be backed at 9/1 to win the game and the draw at 19/5. Chelsea are 1/3 on favourites to secure their first three points of the new season.
If you fancy the Swans to match their first result of last season with a 2-1 win then that is available at 25/1 to be backed
