Nordfeldt has five international caps from Sweden and will provide the goalkeeping competition for Lucasz Fabianski following the summer departures from the Liberty of both Gerhard Tremmel and David Cornell.
Twelve months ago it was Fabianski coming to the Liberty for the first time and it is fair to say that should Nordfeldt have any form of impact along the lines of the big Pole then we will have another excellent signing on our hands.
Fabianski kept 13 clean sheets in the Premier League last season as he made Arsenal pay for letting him go following his FA Cup winning run in their team and the Swans have done well to hold onto him this summer as he established himself firmly as Swansea and Poland’s number one choice.
Tremmel’s appearances have been limited in the past few years although he did leave Swansea with a league cup winners medal having been our goalkeeper of choice in our Capital One Cup run – a competition where Nordfeldt is likely to make his competitive debut for the Swans?
Speaking upon completing the signing, Nordfeldt said รขโฌลI know he (Fabianski) and the whole club had a really good season last year and Iรขโฌโขm looking forward to meeting him and the rest of the lads
รขโฌลIรขโฌโขm really happy to be here at Swansea. As a club, Swansea is like a big family. The ambition of the club fits well with my own.รขโฌย
