But rather than moaning – as many would – Taylor accepts that it is a part of life of a successful player and he hopes that he will not be having much of a rest next summer either.
It is clear that Taylor is grateful to be back in regular action after two seasons close to being in the wilderness thanks to injury and the excellent form of Ben Davies. Recalled to the side after Davies departed for Tottenham last summer, Taylor made the left back spot his own again for both club and country as Wales moved closer to a first major finals since 1958.
But next season Taylor faces increased competition for his place thanks to the arrival of Franck Tabanou in Swansea who comes in to provide the competition that the Swans have so often talked about in every position.
But again, no moaning from Taylor who accepts that it is part of the game and shows a level of maturity that is beyond his 26 years
Speaking to Wales Online, Taylor said รขโฌลWeรขโฌโขre back in on Sunday so we wonรขโฌโขt have been off for that long. Some other teams are back later but thatรขโฌโขs what weรขโฌโขve been told. Itรขโฌโขs a nice break for 12 days and then we get ready for the new season.
รขโฌลMost successful players in football donรขโฌโขt get a break for 15 years and thatรขโฌโขs what we want.
รขโฌลWe donรขโฌโขt want a break next summer either. Iรขโฌโขm not bothered whatsoever – itรขโฌโขs what I love doing and while youรขโฌโขre playing and your teamรขโฌโขs playing well and everyoneรขโฌโขs happy, itรขโฌโขs a great time to be playing football.
รขโฌลPeople have to be pushed to their limits. Thatรขโฌโขs how you get the best out of them in Premier League football. Obviously Iรขโฌโขm looking forward to the season.รขโฌย
