It’s Got To Be Taylor?

Taylor was back in the Swans line up last season thanks to the departure of Ben Davies to Spurs and after some criticism at the front end of the season for me he got stronger and stronger as the season went on and was certainly worthy of his place when the season ended.

Couple that with his performances for Wales and we got to remember what we liked about Neil Taylor before his bad injury in 2012. I think it is fair to say that he doesn’t offer the same kind of threat going forward as say Ben does but defensively I think he is a better player and he certainly deserved his new contract at the end last season.

Tabanou is someone we don’t know that much about but from what I have been told he is defensively as strong as Taylor is but does offer more of a threat going forward. That has to be something that Garry Monk will be considering although the danger could be at Chelsea that it leaves us exposed so that could also be one for a further day.

For me Taylor is the man in possession and it is for Tabanou to come into the club and prove that he can take the place off him. I suspect that we will see a reasonably even spread of appearances between these two next season but it will – in my view – be Taylor that takes the starting position at Stamford Bridge on the first weekend of the season?
