And the move means that fellow countryman Nelson Oliveira will not return as had been predicted for a second loan spell.
Oliveira spent the second half of last season on loan at the Liberty Stadium and there had been reports that he could be back next term for a second loan spell as the Swans looked to strengthen their squad in the attacking department.
However, with the capture of Eder looking imminent it seems that a deal for Oliveira is less likely to happen with Eder and Bafetimbi Gomis now competing together for the chance to lead the Swans attack next season.
With the options in the squad then of Marvin Emnes and Andre Ayew amongst others then it seems unlikely that the Swans would take another striker, even on loan, to compete in the squad for the season.
Oliveira made 11 appearances for the Swans last season although just 4 were starts and he scored the one goal in a 3-2 win at Newcastle.
