Saves

We all know the impact that Lucasz Fabianski made for the Swans. He arrived shortly after he helped Arsenal win the FA Cup against Hull and turned himself into one of the best signings of the season and a clear reason why Swansea found themselves so high up the ‘saves’ made table with 141. This was a figure topped only by Sunderland and QPR who had 142 each.

Pass Completion

One of the things that the Swans have become well known for since they arrived in the Premier League is their pass accuracy. But to prove that last season we had more of a Plan B and were able to adapt to different situations our pass accuracy dropped down to just 82.1% leaving them in 7th place in the division. Manchester United were top with a passing accuracy of 85.1%.

Goals

The Swans had just ten different scorers in the Premier League last season and – despite leaving in January – WIlfried Bony scored more than any other player with nine league strikes. Wilf also managed 3.3 shots per game in his time with us last season, with Bafetimbi Gomis in comparison at just 2.2

Total Passes

Jack Cork was an inspired piece of business in the January transfer window and his worth to the team was obvious to all of us that watched him play. He attempted an average of 56 passes per game with a completion success rate of over 85%. His success rate was not the highest though, Ki Sung-Yeung and Leon Britton were both at the 90% mark.

Tackles Made

If anyone ever doubts the value of Neil Taylor to the Swans side then just look at the tackles made last season by the Swans. Taylor led the way with 79 tackles in the Premier League which is an impressive statistic made more so when you consider the next two were Angel Rangel and Federico Fernandez at just 54 each.

So that was our brief look back at five key stats that made up our season – anything in here surprise you?
