Swans In For Derby Striker? I Can’t See It

Martin has scored 45 goals in two years so you can see why we would be inked with him and also the same reason why West Ham, Crystal Palace, Newcastle and West Brom are interested as well.

But with now two main strikers on our books I just cannot see why we would move for another one knowing full well that there is probably no way that we could keep all of them happy?

And if Martin’s comments today upon Darren Bent signing are anything to go by then I am not sure that the player himself is looking for a move – he seems more intent on joining up with Bent which makes me wonder whether there is any truth in the links with anyone let alone us.

Martin said “I’m excited for him (Bent) to be here

“Last season, I think we only played a few games together, which wasn’t really enough.

“I think if we can both get into the side together, we can do well, fire in a few goals and get some wins for the team.

“But we’ll obviously see what the new manager wants to do.

“I think he’s a great signing for the club,” said Martin.

“I think he probably had a lot of options and we’re delighted that he chose to come here.

“I said when he came here on loan that he was a fantastic signing. You just have to look at his experience and his goal record รขโ‚ฌโ€œ in a higher division let alone this one รขโ‚ฌโ€œ and what he did for us last season.”
