Crewe Link Could Benefit Us As Much As Them

It was probably a youth line that we looked at ourselves with envy as we languished around in the bottom half of the football league without the proverbial pot to…well you know the rest.

But now it is Crewe that are looking to us for a link up as the relationship between the two clubs looks as strong as it possibly could be thanks to some transfer deals that have happened.

This week, Swans youngster Adam King joined Crewe on loan until January and that followed hot on the heels of Alan Tate being there last season and also them looking to sign former Swans keeper David Cornell.

And it is a relationship that Crewe boss Steve Davis wants to build on as he explained รขโ‚ฌล“We have drawn up a good relationship with them.

รขโ‚ฌล“We took Alan in and heรขโ‚ฌโ„ขll have gone back with rave reviews about what we do here.

รขโ‚ฌล“He had lost a bit of spark and interest and regained it here, that should be applauded.

รขโ‚ฌล“It has enabled us to build that trust about us taking their young players.

รขโ‚ฌล“And it helps that we play the same system รขโ‚ฌโ€œ you donรขโ‚ฌโ„ขt sign for Swansea unless you can play football.

รขโ‚ฌล“They have some very talented lads, and Adam is one of those players who they are excited about.

รขโ‚ฌล“When he gets more experience heรขโ‚ฌโ„ขll have a good chance of getting in their first team.รขโ‚ฌย

The relationship is also a good one for us as it means that we can take some of our most promising players and send them out for valuable first team experience that they may not get here until that part of their development is complete.

We have seen it ourselves in the past when we have got players from this level on loan and now it is for us to do the same with our players and forging relationships with clubs can help us just as much as it can help them.

Another positive move for me from the Swans in a summer that is just going brilliantly

Swansea City: Andy Coleman has much to answer for right now

Swansea City Chairman Andy Coleman has often asked us to judge him by his actions and all too often when we sit back and do judge him on those actions we realise just how out of his depth he is as Chairman of a professional football club. Many people will…
