Gylfi Backs Forwards To Get The Goals

And with the capture of the four summer signings the Swans seem to have options everywhere in the park which means that nobody should be able to rest on their laurels and take their place for granted which is the way that it should be.

Having returned from the tour of Germany with one draw and one win under their belts it is Reading and Nottingham Forest that await the Swans this week as they continue their pre-season campaign ahead of that opener at Stamford Bridge on August 8th.

One of the positions where we seem to have two strong options is the man up fromnt with Bafetimbi Gomis and Eder both competing for the traditional one spot that would be available.

Gomis had a frustrating first six months at Swansea last season having to play second fiddle to WIlfried Bony and there were rumblings that he would look to move on in January. But it was Bony who moved on to Manchester City and Gomis repaid the faith that the Swans had shown in him twelve months ago with some vital goals in the second half of the season.

This summer the Swans have increased their strike power with the ร‚ยฃ5m capture of Eder, a Portugal international and that means that both players will need to be at the top of the game if they want to hold down a regular starting spot in the team.

I would say that Gomis will be the one that starts up front against Chelsea but there is still time for Eder to impress to pressure the man who ended last season on top form.

And both players have been backed by midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson as ready to score the goals in the Premier League “We need the strikers to be scoring goals

รขโ‚ฌล“Itรขโ‚ฌโ„ขs very important in the Premier League to have a striker thatรขโ‚ฌโ„ขs scoring goals week-in, week-out.

รขโ‚ฌล“Bafe is an important player and everyone in the squad knows he can score a lot of goals this season, hopefully he will do just that.

รขโ‚ฌล“Eder has also gelled in nicely. Heรขโ‚ฌโ„ขs a tall lad thatรขโ‚ฌโ„ขs strong and is sharp too.

รขโ‚ฌล“Hopefully heรขโ‚ฌโ„ขll get a couple of goals in the next few games and Iรขโ‚ฌโ„ขm sure heรขโ‚ฌโ„ขll do well for us this season.รขโ‚ฌย
