Montero Wanting To Play More

Montero was one of the stars of last season for me and it would be impossible to forget the way that he tore into Arsenal twice last season and was hugely instrumental in getting the Swans to the record breaking position that we ended last season in.

Last summer for Montero it was the World Cup for Ecuador and this time around it was the Copa America but he was back in action for the Swans last weekend and happy to get back into the action once again.

Montero’s speed and ability to go around a defender is something that we have lacked all too often in recent years and that is what we will be looking for from the man this time around with Montero right up there in the pecking order.

The arrival of Andre Ayew will add to the competition for places that also includes Nathan Dyer, Wayne Routledge, Modou Barrow and Marvin Emnes but that is not something that worries Montero who just wants to play more than he did last time around.

รขโ‚ฌล“It was good to be back and I was happy to be playing again for Swansea.” he told the Western Mail

รขโ‚ฌล“It is true I didnรขโ‚ฌโ„ขt have much time to rest over the summer but I felt I had the time I needed. I spent some time with my family back home after the Copa America and I feel good.

รขโ‚ฌล“I played in the World Cup last summer too but I am always proud to play for my country and compete and I feel okay and I am looking forward to get back playing in the Premier League again.

รขโ‚ฌล“I want to play more games last year and it was hard not to be on the pitch when I had injuries. I did play a lot of minutes but hopefully I can play more and it can show in my performances.

รขโ‚ฌล“I feel very happy to be able to compete with good players, we have to work hard, whoever plays we have to support them. Itรขโ‚ฌโ„ขs good for us to have that competition and we have to make the manager decide but we will support each other.รขโ‚ฌย

Swansea City: Andy Coleman has much to answer for right now
