Chelsea Boss Showing The Pressure?

The game was just coming to an end when Eden Hazard went down injured and he was treated by the medical staff. The rules state that when there is a player who has had treatment they must leave the field meaning that Chelsea had to take the free kick with just nine people on the pitch.

I have no sympathy for the manager on this occasion as all too often when you watch teams – and Chelsea are one of the worst – they stop play to gain treatment for an injury that has clearly never happened. The problem when you almost actively encourage it then there will be a time when it backfires on you and this could be one of those occasions for the Chelsea boss.

He said after the game “I wasn’t happy with my medical staff because even if you are a medical doctor or secretary on the bench, you have to understand the game

“If you go to the pitch to assist a player, then you must be sure that a player has a serious problem.

“I was sure that Eden didn’t have a serious problem. He had a knock and was very tired.

“My medical department left me with eight fit outfield players in a counter attack after a set piece and we were worried we didn’t have enough players left.”

Mourinho did not have a good time at yesterday’s game. He had to watch his side outplayed for large periods, he needed to watch as they twice let a lead slip and he was unable to give the Swans the credit they deserved at the end of the game.

My only conclusion for that is to assume that he has accepted he was out foxed by a young manager in Garry Monk and that has led him to lash out looking for things to blame when in reality it would be easier to give his opposite number some credit.

It’s fun to watch though and if he owned a pram the toys would be well and truly out of it!!
